Fresh Opportunity to Find My Reigate
Every parent wants their child to eat more vegetables, and with concerns about sugar and childhood obesity on the rise, Riverford Organic Farmers and Find My Reigate are taking action to get kids to love the green stuff!
Find My Reigate and local company, Riverford Reigate, are teaming up to bring you the best quality fresh, seasonal and organic food delivered right to the doorsteps of the families in our area.
Simon and his team have delivered well over 450,000 veg boxes during his time, getting to know lots of local families. We are joining forces with Riverford Reigate with the hope that we can help and encourage the local community to eat and live well and meet other likeminded families. Jointly we are planning to post regular time-friendly recipes with quick bites for the kids to enjoy too.
Here are a few ides to get you started:
We have just finalised the details of a hands-on cookery class to help families get the best out of veg and we will be working to bring the green stuff to local schools and nurseries, where Riverford Reigate will be hosting days for them to try and taste for free. Keep your eyes peeled for our next competition online too!
Kerry from Find My Reigate said: "The Find My Reigate team are excited about the content, competitions and opportunities that collaborating with Simon and Riverford will enable us to bring to families in Reigate and the surrounding areas. We all try to do the best by our children and their focus on healthy, organic and sustainable produce ticks a lot of boxes. When Simon told us about some of the schemes aimed at local nurseries and schools, as well as events focused on bringing people together, it was clear that we share a lot of values."
Simon said “Joining forces with Find My Reigate can only help bring the local community together of families who want to meet and share their experiences. Eating is normally top of the agenda! Riverford believe that one of the best things you can do for your children is involve them in preparing family meals. This can be time-consuming and messy, but it’s important as what you teach them now will build firm foundations for their future attitudes towards healthy eating.
Let them wash, chop, grate and touch fruit and vegetables, and talk about where they come from. A vegbox is an ideal way to do this, and we also have loads of hints and tips to help parents encourage children to eat well and get them involved in the kitchen in fun and safe ways."
