Seasonal Snippets - December
We've pulled together a bumper hamper of Christmas snippets this month to give you lots of seasonal inspiration and ideas at your fingertips. There are lots of opportunities this month to get out and about with our families, but also to support our local schools, businesses, crafters, artists and volunteers in the process. But be warned, because of the way the dates are falling this year many of your favourite activities may be earlier than you think so don't get caught out.
December is off to a flying start and just between us, we've got a feeling it's going to be fabulous!

WHAT WE'RE READING
We're sprinkling festive magic (with a bit of sneaky counting on the side) with The Twelve Days of Christmas wonderfully illustrated by Britta Teckentrup. Each peep-through page reveals a new Christmas gift from the five gold rings to the French hens. Each paper-cut sheet is intriguing on its own and beautiful when layered together. See more information about the book and buy it here >
WHAT WE'RE FEEDING
There are so many amazing things to make for Christmas, but we thought we'd share a recipe from Riverford for Christmas leftovers, argulably the best bit of Christmas especially if enjoyed by the light of the fridge after eveyone else has gone to bed...
HOW WE'RE RELAXING
Feeding the birds - a great way of getting the kids, and you, outside for some fresh air away from the Christmas films on repeat and the endless questions; "How does Father Christmas know we moved house?" "If Father Christmas can fit down the chimney, why don't robbers get in the house that way, too?" "Do all the presents for all the children in the world fit on the sleigh, or does Santa have to go home to stock up?" Pass the sherry bottle! The slower pace of the garden, topping up the bird feeders and then sitting quietly to see if the birds come, can be much more relaxing.
Here are some tips shared by Surrey Wildlife Trust.
